APFS Christmas Cards update

Parents who have returned their cards to school, but have not managed to order online, should put the (correct) money in a sealed envelope, write on the front of the envelope your child’s name, class, what you wish to order (see choices below), and a brief description of their child’s card (e.g. Robin on a branch, Father Xmas up a chimney, Angel on a tree etc etc!).  If you have not already brought your card in return that along with your order and your payment.

The cost of items is as follows:-

1st  pack 12 card pack standards £5.50

Additions 12 card pack £4.50

Luxury gloss 6 pack £7.50

Additional luxury 6 pack £5

Gift tags (12) £2.50

Wrapping paper £4

Envelopes should be brought into the office tonight, tomorrow and Monday morning and we will pass these onto FONS who will place your order manually.

If you have placed your order, paid for it on the website, and received a confirmation email you do not have to do anything as APFS will have received your order before their server collapsed and it will be processed by APFS as normal.



APFS – Christmas Cards Update from FONS

We have had an update from the Christmas Card company regarding their website issues.

APFS have suspended their online ordering system. If you have already placed your order online, received an email confirmation and returned your child’s drawing you need to do nothing as your order and payment has been received by them.

If you have not managed to place an order online, do not bother to try online again. The company have decided to revert to the old method of paying in cash! Return the artwork, circle the number of cards you wish to purchase on the order form and enclose the correct amount of cash and return the whole order to your child’s class teacher.

The deadline for orders is 12 noon on Monday 7 November, however we would be grateful if you could return them  by tomorrow if possible to give the FONS team time to sort the orders out this weekend.

We apologise for the problems you may have experienced over the past week – this was totally out of our control – and we thank you for your patience.  We will review whether we use this company next year when we have spoken in person to them and receive assurances that this will not happen again in the future.

Christmas Cards – APFS Update

FONS have been told by APFS that the website is back in operation.  They have extended the deadline for orders to be placed on the website by Saturday 5 November 2016.  Cards should be handed in to class teachers by Monday 7 November. The company have apologised for the disruption this issue caused you.  Thank you for you patience!

APFS – Christmas Cards

APFS who print the Christmas Cards that parents order (with the commission going to FONS) appear to have an issue with their website which has crashed. They are currently fixing the problem and will let us know when orders can be placed again – the deadline, which was due today, will be extended.  We will inform you by text when they let us know the new date.

Parents Evenings – October 2016

We have set up the online booking system for our parents’ evenings. The dates are Thursday 13 October and Monday 17 October for Years Reception to Year 6.  Nursery staff will be running the one session on Monday 17 October.  Appointments start at 2.30pm and finish at 6.00pm.

PLEASE NOTE: You need to type this address into your website browser’s ‘address bar’. Do not try to ‘Google’ this website address or use a search engine as that will not work. This is a common mistake on phones and tablets especially.

Login to see which appointments are available and select one that is convenient for you.

You will need:

  • Your child’s legal first name and legal surname
  • Your child’s date of birth
  • Your child’s class (please enter Class 6, Class 5, Reception Class, Nursery (Flexi) etc (rather than Year 6, Year 5, Reception, Nursery, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 etc)

The system is live TODAY and will be open to take your bookings until 1.30pm on the afternoon of each session.  You can book for Parents’ Evenings as soon as you receive this letter. Bookings are made on a first come, first served basis.

Once you have logged in, we suggest you use the ‘Automated Booking’ wizard to make your appointments. You will be asked to enter your availability and choose which teachers you want to see before being shown the most efficient order for visiting those teachers on the night.

 Troubleshooting Tips –  please read before booking! 

  • To login you need to enter the details we have on record for you and your child. If you have recently changed your title or surname, for example, and not informed us, we will be expecting you to login with the details we have on record.  A common error seems to be entering Miss/Mrs/Ms – if you are unable to log in using one variation try the other 2! Also do not put a full stop at the end of the title.
  • The email address you enter is only used to receive a confirmation of your appointment. If the system gives you an error when you login, it will not be the email address that is the problem
  • Don’t forget to scroll down past the first evening to see dates and times for the second evening if you are making appointments one at a time
  • If you have several children to make bookings for, use the ‘Change Child’ button on the blue bar (above the school’s name) in the very top left corner of the Parent’s Booking Page to swap between your children. This does not apply to the Booking Wizard, where your children are tabbed above the teacher names

If you are unable to book at home, please call into the office and a member of staff will be happy to help you.

Do you need a Nursery Place?

Do you, or anyone you know, need childcare for children aged 3 or 4? Well look no further than our fantastic nursery!  You can apply at any time and children can start the term after they turn 3 in September, January and April (depending on their date of birth).  Please contact the office for further information and an application form.

If you know any families who may not be aware of the fact that we have a nursery within the school please can you help spread the word?  Children are currently entitled to 15 hours of free nursery education when they turn 3 years old, and this will be rising to 30 hours in September 2017 (for eligible parents  – more information will follow when we receive the finalised information from the DfE and Kirklees Council).

Kirklees Council Survey


Kirklees Council would like your views on proposals for services to children, young people and families

Over the last eighteen months, Kirklees council has been thinking about a new way of providing support to children, young people and families across the district. They would like to share our plans with you and find out what you think about them.

The consultation is important, as it will give the council views from a wide cross-section of the local community. Everyone is welcome to get involved and all feedback will be taken into consideration.
