Unfortunately we are unable to open school today, Monday 28 March 2022, due to a partial loss of power – we currently have no electricity in half of the classrooms, offices, the main kitchen and the corridors. We also have no boilers which means no heating and no hot water. Therefore it is not safe for children to be in school so we have made the difficult decision to close today. Teachers will be setting remote learning on Seesaw. We will update this information when the Emergency Electricians have been and assessed the situation. We currently have no access to the telephone.
UPDATED – 11AM 28.3.22
We have had a electrician inspect the damage to the mains power. We have lost our major phase 1 fuse, which has knocked out the power to half of the school including the boiler room, kitchen and most of the classrooms. We are currently awaiting a team from Northern Powergrid to come out and assess the damage and make repairs. We will update you as soon as they have been.
Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience that this issue has caused – please be assured that we are doing everything we can to get school reopened as soon as possible.
