Spacehive – We would really like to thank all the parents and staff who have made a pledge on the Spacehive website for the allotment – each and every pledge brings us closer to getting the allotment finished and ready for the children to use from September. This will be an amazing space and each class will have their own raised bed to plant in – but we really do need every pledge we can get in order to get the building work completed so please have a look at the Spacehive website and make a pledge if you are able to www.spacehive.com/allotment-holmfirth.
The next two weeks are vital for the fundraising process, as at the end of this period, Spacehive will look at the number of bids received and decide if it has enough public support for them to match any funds raised.
Holmepride – Community in Action have arranged a day where anyone can come up to the allotment at school (this can be accessed through the main playground and is through the gate to the right of the Tiger Club Log Cabin) and you can find out, first-hand, why we are needing to crowdfund through www.spacehive.com/allotment-holmfirth. We can explain what the new contractor will be building, find out what we have just waiting to kit out the allotment, groups like Grow to School and Sharing Memories are ready and waiting to attend the allotment and help the children of our school. So just drop by in the morning of 6th June, from 10am onwards, we will be pleased to share the news of this wheelchair friendly and usable allotment coming to the school.
The 7 raised beds in the allotment were filled up with waste material which needs removing, so edible fruit and vegetables grown by the children will flourish. So if you can also bring along a wheelbarrow this will help tremendously!
It would be really nice to see any parents, grandparents and friends on the 6 June – please come along!
