We have just been advised by another parent that Rotcher Road appears to be closed at the junction with Hollowgate. I have spoken to Yorkshire Water, who are responsible for the closure, and they have informed us that the road is unlikely to be open by the end of the school day due to a burst water main.

There is a road diversion in place – however, we suspect that this diversion will direct you onto Hollowgate and up Goose Green – which is an extremely narrow road – which is used by pedestrians – including a number of our older children who walk home unaccompanied. In view of this we would ask that you try and walk up to school to collect your children today, and for as long as Rotcher Road is closed.

According to Yorkshire Water, Rotcher Road may be closed for a number of days. We have asked them to keep us updated and have also stressed the importance of getting Rotcher Road re-opened as soon as possible.
