Year 1 pupils are cheeky monkeys! There were cones everywhere in Miss Robinson’s PE lesson. What a great warm-up activity! In Nursery, the traffic has been building, but thankfully no hold-ups.
Key Stage 2 finished the day in some style with renditions of “Amarillo” and “Pop Idol”. It was pleasure to observe such confidence and enjoyment.
A great effort from all our athletes last night, at Holmfirth High school. Year 1 and Year 2 children took part in a fun run, whilst Years 3-6 were involved as teams. Everybody took part with great spirit, and some even managed a smile at the finish! Mr Warrener and Mrs Pearson were delighted coaches,
It was catapults yesterday; today, we have been invaded by rainforest creatures! I saw snakes slithering across the playground this morning, on their way to Year 4’s classroom. They’ve certainly made themselves feel at home.
Year 6 pupils have been set a PAL project, which involves catapults. I don’t think Mr. Warrener was expecting work on such a grand scale!

What a great talent show last night: Year 5 certainly has the X factor. We listened to singers, laughed at comedians and were lured into the world of magic. Who needs television with Year 5 around?
This week in Year 3 we’ve had some amazing PAL! In class we are reading the Magic Faraway Tree and so we decided we’d like to invent our own lands through the clouds at the top of the tree. Here’s a photo of the PAL which is on the ‘Kids Board’ in the classroom. Well done everybody!
Another action-packed day at Cliffe House! This morning, the children took part in Bushcraft skills, making shelters and toasting marshmallows – real Bear Grylls stuff, whilst this afternoon’s activity was all about team building. I’m looking forward to the Talent Show – I do hope Simon Cowell is in a good mood!
After 5.18 miles of walking, Year 5 still had plenty of energy left to burn on the adventure playground! Pond dipping proved fascinating for all, especially when one group landed a newt.
A Wednesday snapshot provided the following:
Reception dough discoing,
Year 1 finding partners to 10,
Year 2 instructing and jamming,
Year 3 rocking,
Year 4 swimming
Year 5 walking to Cliffe House
And Year 6 powering through problems.
