Hello to all in Year 3 and 4 we hope you are having a super half term break and making the most of the lovely sunshine we have had!!!!
Just a really quick reminder about our trip on the 3rd March 2014 and the 31st March 2014. Please make sure you know which day you are coming with us and please ensure you have sent your permission slip back into school.
On the day of your trip you will come to school dressed in your Tudor costume and we will make our way from there to Oakwell Hall. We hopefully should be back for 3.30pm but if not a text message will be sent out.
We will be making our own lunch whilst there so there is no need to bring a packed lunch with you.
We look forward to seeing you bright and breezy and well rested on Monday 3rd March.
Year 4 are learning about the Tudors at the moment and in music they have been learning about the instruments that were played at this time. Last Tuesday they had a wonderful afternoon when Chris, Bob and Eric came into school to show them instruments that would have been played in Tudor times. They brought a melodian, a psaltery, a hurdy gurdy and a dulcimer. They even got to try out these instruments and dance the ‘Horse’s Brawl’ to live music!
Chris, Bob and Eric then gave an assembly for KS2 which was great and had children joining in playing percussion instruments.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to Chris, Bob and Eric for a wonderful afternoon.
This week we’ve chosen three children for Celebration Assembly.
The first is Archie, firstly for his amazing PAL every week and also for his handwriting. He is doing so well that today we decided that it was time for him to start writing in a narrow lined book with a thinner pencil! Well done Archie 🙂
The second child is Eadie-Mae. She sets such a wonderful example to others by always doing the right thing, she’s also wonderful at tidying up!
The third child is Isaac. This week he’s really been concentrating on his work and has achieved so much! Well done Isaac!
This week we have three people in our celebration assembly.
First of all is Alfie! Alfie managed to swim a whole width on his own with no armbands this week. We are all so, so, so, proud of him. He jumped out of the water and shouted ‘I did it!’. Well done Alfie!
Our next superstar is Jess, Jess always goes the extra mile with all of her learning and PAL. She is our writer of the week for her big write on Friday. Jess has also created some gorgeous tudor roses out of pom poms and knitting. She has also made a lovely and very funny story up out of her spelling this week!
Our last person is Toby, Mrs Pearson has nominated Toby for his excellent improvement in tennis he is now having great rallies with different people. She also said he is very polite and keeps himself safe walking back up to school.
